BACK TO WORK: K/L new season UPDATE

After some months filled with silence, K/L is totally back on work, ready for this deep and severe winter season. K/L is an individual biz, so it’s positioned in parallel to my life, i mean: musicians, distros, friends, buyers, fans, followers and inquiring peoples, don’t worry about this period of silence, ’cause i’m only setting up all the matters for a comfy winter. I have almost three tapes near the release date and one of them is in the last stage of the making, in US. First of all: the Curse Purse tape will see the light in the second week of October, with the usual methods (entire streaming on Bandcamp, full download only for the buyers). I’ve decided to postpone this release in order to help them having a good reception: people don’t see anything but SEA if you’re deep rooted in the mediterranean traditions. Next there will be a double release: Tetsu Mineta (ex Both Cheese), C25, guitar soli + Error Massage (Glen Galloway, ex Trumans Water, now Octagrape), C25, a full blast of rhythmic guitar noise and blurbs. The last release of the year, probably, is one of the record that i’m lookin’ for, but i mean i was always looking for: a collection of new songs by Fly Ashtray, one of my favorite bands coming from the fuzzy, weird US underground of the nineties. For the moment, that’s all. Please, excuse me if i have some weak moments, i’m tryin’ to do my best with seriality, but sometimes in life somethin’ happen. And this label-thing is totally rooted in my everyday life. So, specially for the distros that have paid in advance, guys, u don’t have to be worried: many gifts are coming from yr favorite boutique. Keep follow this page in the next weeks. Ciao.

The New Noise: NAPOLI REGNA, focus about what happens in the city

Körper / Leib 011: Curse Purse – Hundred Headless C20 (preview)

Welcome Curse Purse in K/L family. Really happy to announce this cassette of one of the best out-rock outfit in USA. Selected copies will land in the USA after the release date, scheduled for the first two weeks of July. This is also the latest and last installment of the “West Mass Batch”, inaugurated by Luxardo, continued by Bromp Treb and completed by this C20. Matt and me have a mutual exchange – of boxes, letters or experiences – now usual for more than two years and this tape is a kind of fulfillment; not least the Curse Purse is in my opinion one of the best bands rock out in the United States, as well as pivot and epicenter of the Boston scene. Ted, in fact, drums and guitar, is the owner of FEEDING TUBE RECORDS, as well as stirrer with multiple groups, Miss Olivia Kennett, voice synthesizer, is totally involved in that scene – remarkable split with Andrew Pensado, on the label of Matt, Hidden Temple Tapes – and finally, mr. Robidoux, precisely, guitar and vocals, that probably some European and Italian will remember for his past in Speedy Ortiz. “Hundred Headless” is the penultimate of K/L tape before a much-needed summer break, more news will follow soon. meanwhile u can pre-order it in the usual way (korperleib@gmail.com).

“Perhaps the Curse Purse CURSE is real? We opened the clasp in 2014 and chaos was inflicted in several forms – two automobile break-ins, one towed automobile, one totally destroyed automobile, one border entry denied, a few poor restaurant choices. We tried a counter-spell on stage at a witch museum in Salem, Massachusetts but to no avail. We lie dormant at the foot of the Poet’s Seat until the curse passed over us. We could only walk the 1.1 miles between each other’s house for practice and at that had to watch the ice. We returned to recording and performing in anticipation that the spell had finally worn off, and it appears it has. Herein lies the record of that dormancy, under the sandstone seat that could erode at any moment…”

Körper / Leib 010: Bromp Treb – The Last Functioning Audio Cassette Left On The Planet C60(preview)

Found in a lead box, this is the last electro-mechanically functioning audio cassette left on the planet. In spite of the Gaia-wobble and switched poles, every pathetic particle desperately and thankfully remains clinging to this dysfunctional globe. The magnetic data remains here encoded in high-bias chrome. No it cannot be played on a garden computer. It’s after the end of the world, don’t you know that yet? A primitive mix tape cut from slices of time segmented samples recreated with binary yes no machines copying reprinting pushing back into analogs and copying the reprints, removing and overdubbing, but mostly accumulating, replaying, and reperforming. Bromp Treb listened to digital machines but with analog ears and made a cast of those ears and then buried the casts in magnetically-charged metal shavings. The result was plastic and tangible, illegible but lost, until now. Tape collages from recordings made with many devices from 2013 – 2016.

Körper / Leib 009: Luxardo – Ogni Giorno Eccitazione. (1978) C30 (preview)

Really proud to announce the ninth release of your favorite italo-tape label. This time we have a very special release, cooked by your crooner Luxardo, from Guerrilla Toss and Tredici Bacci. “Ogni Giorno Eccitazione”. This words are full of lust, glitter and soft-erotism, in a kind of italian-raucous humour. As well, Italy is part of this fiction. This thug named Luxardo is the chansonnier of all that. Imagine an obscure mid-eighties-Serge Gainsbourg croonin’ in fake italian on the tracks orchestrated by Armando Trovajoli, or at least a soft-porn comment for an italian porn comedy, which “Ogni Giorno Eccitazione” actually is. It was 1978, and Luxardo ruled that scenario, in certain ways you can find the same directions Battisti/Mogol reached and spawned in that years. In another life or another level of reality, the deliquente named Luxardo could be also the bass player of a noise-funk band or the director of a cult orchestra named Tredici Bacci. But here what’s real it’s transfigurated by his double mirror: let’s have a Martini and listen to this Romantico jams.
